Handling an Injured or Distressed Pet
Please use caution when approaching an injured or frightened pet. Even the most gentle and familiar animals can behave unpredictably when in pain or distress. To protect both yourself and your pet:
- Approach slowly and stay calm, sudden movements can escalate fear
- Gently wrap your pet's head in a soft cloth or towel to help limit movement and reduce the risk of biting
- Always ensure your pet's airway remains clear and unobstructed
- Do not attempt to wrap or muzzle your pet if they are vomiting, gasping, or showing any signs of breathing difficulty
